Considering the reported instability of the big Blue Birdie website and its owner, now seems like the ideal time to explore other avenues for sharing my thoughts, fun facts, and stats related to the Seattle Mariners and baseball. I’m hopeful the Talkin’ Mariners newsletter will do the trick.
To be clear, I will continue contributing to Prospect Insider. Plus, my presence on the Blue Birdie website will continue since it has been so very helpful in growing my profile. That said, starting a newsletter permits me to dig into relevant topics falling outside the purview of Prospect Insider and too big for a thread of tweets.
My vision for Talkin’ Mariners is to share interesting information derived from common-sense analysis of facts and data without turning the conversation into an all-out nerd fest.
I’m also going to try something new for me. Accept recommendations for future newsletter topics from subscribers. Perhaps this idea will crash and burn. Still, I thought it’d be fun to give readers the opportunity to tell me what they would like me to write about. No promises I will use your idea. But if I do, you will receive credit in the post.
Beyond a regular newsletter focused on individual topics, there will be unscheduled “Stat Flash” releases with pertinent stats and other noteworthy information about a specific Mariner, the team itself, the opposition, or stuff happening around MLB. This element of the newsletter will pick up steam once the regular season gets underway.
Here’s the best part…the newsletter is FREE!
I hope you’ll subscribe and give it a try. If you like what you see, I would appreciate you sharing it with friends and colleagues. If you don’t, you can always unsubscribe.
After all, it’s FREE!
Sounds like a promising experience for your followers and an adventure for you. Best of luck with it!
Looking forward to following along. Appreciate your baseball brain!
